A Note on the Uniform Closeness of Function Weighted Empirical Type Processes1
نویسنده
چکیده
This article proves a lemma which shows that two empirical processes will be uniformly close if they are evaluated with a small time lag. A new feature of our lemma is that we allow the empirical processes to be functionally weighted (by fi(t), see Lemma 2). A third lemma for functionally weighted empirical process is also included. Almost Sure Convergence Rates for the Estimation of a Covariance Operator for Negatively Associated Samples
Let {Xn, n >= 1} be a strictly stationary sequence of negatively associated random variables, with common continuous and bounded distribution function F. In this paper, we consider the estimation of the two-dimensional distribution function of (X1,Xk+1) based on histogram type estimators as well as the estimation of the covariance function of the limit empirical process induced by the se...
متن کاملSome functional inequalities in variable exponent spaces with a more generalization of uniform continuity condition
Some functional inequalities in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces are presented. The bi-weighted modular inequality with variable exponent $p(.)$ for the Hardy operator restricted to non- increasing function which is$$int_0^infty (frac{1}{x}int_0^x f(t)dt)^{p(x)}v(x)dxleqCint_0^infty f(x)^{p(x)}u(x)dx,$$ is studied. We show that the exponent $p(.)$ for which these modular ine...
متن کاملOn the Performance of Different Empirical Loss Equations for Flow Through Coarse Porous Media (RESEARCH NOTE)
In this paper, the empirical equations that estimate hydraulic parameters for non-linear flow through coarse porous media are evaluated using a series of independent data collected in the laboratory. In this regard, three different relatively uniform soils ranging in size from 8.5 to 27.6 mm have been selected and three random samples drawn from each material. The physical characteristics such ...
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Seismic Wave Propagation Equation in Uniform Soil on Bed Rock with Weighted Residual Method
To evaluate the earth seismic response due to earthquake effects, ground response analyses are used to predict ground surface motions for development of design response spectra, to compute dynamic stresses and strains for evaluation of liquefaction hazards, and to determine the earthquake induced forces that can lead to instability of earth and earth-retaining structures. Most of the analytical...
